Participants: Elena Nikolova and Katya Zamfirova attended a two-week course (from 13.08.2018 to 24.08.2018) entitled Theory and Practice of CLIL in Dublin, Ireland. We were familiarised with key concepts and issues in CLIL and shared international best practice techniques as applied in today’s school environment. The course helped us develop our teaching techniques and confidence in teaching subjects through English which was our main goal to attend the course. It also examined the impact on teaching of recent pedagogical developments including developments in classroom technology, covered a variety of school subjects with a focus on methods of making the subjects accessible to learners through English.
During the course we acquired the following competences:
– got familiar with key concepts and issues in CLIL and shared international best practice techniques as applied in today’s school environment
– developed our teaching techniques and confidence in teaching subjects through English
– examined the impact on teaching of recent pedagogical developments including developments in classroom technology
– covered a variety of school subjects including geography, history, science and art with a focus on methods of making the subjects accessible to learners through English
– examined the theoretical principles underpinning CLIL in such a way that they will be applicable to practice at primary and secondary level
– created our own CLIL lesson plans
– learned how to use reading and listening texts, as well as videos, in CLIL to develop content, communication, culture and cognition
– developed and consolidated our own language skills
– established contacts with teachers from a variety of European backgrounds and facilitated future networking with these professionals
– re-enforced the capacity and international scope of our schools
– greater understanding of students’ needs
– improved learner outcomes for their students
– digital portfolio of CLIL lesson plans and projects for the CLIL classroom
– increased knowledge of Irish history and culture
– knowledge of Erasmus+ potential for professional development
Pre-course
The Monitoring and Mentoring process of the participants before, during and after the mobility were organized as follows:
The course provider was responsible to:
1. organize and provide the course according to the program;
2. provide all the necessary materials;
3. help the participants to find accommodation;
4. give certificates to the participants;
5. help the participants to fill in the mobility documents.
The principal of Ivan Vazov High School, the coordinator of the project and the accountant were responsible to:
1.communicate with the National Agency, sign the contract and communicate with the receiving organization before the mobility.
2. prepare all the documents and pay the fees and other expenses.
3. the coordinator monitors the process of filling in the individual reports by each participant and the required information in Mobility Tool after the course.
Evaluation and Recognition of the mobility:
1. we received and presented our certificates;
2. we made a presentation about their mobility and the acquired knowledge;
3. we started writing our individual reports to be uploaded in Mobility tool;
4. we will organise lessons which will be visited by the principal and other teachers from the school to demonstrate the new teaching techniques;
5. we will take part in a seminar to share the acquired knowledge;
6. we will participate more actively in the interdisciplinary and innovative projects of the school.

Участници: Елена Николова и Катя Замфирова участваха в двуседмичен курс (от 13.08.2018 до 24.08.2018г.) в образователна квалификационна дейност на тема „Теория и практика на преподаването на учебен предмет на английски език“ в Дъблин, Ирландия. По време на курса бяхме запознати с ключови концепции и проблеми при преподаването на учебен предмет на английски език и научихме за най-добрите международни практики, които се прилагат в училищната среда. Курсът ни помогна да развием нашите техники на преподаване и да придобием увереност в преподаването на учебен предмет на английски език, което беше основната ни цел за участие в него. Той също представи влиянието върху преподаването на съвременните педагогически развития, включително развитието на технологията за класната стая. Курсът покри разнообразни учебни предмети с фокус на методите правещи предметите достъпни за учениците чрез английския език.
По време на курса развихме следните компетентности:
– научихме какво е CLIL и кои са ключовите концепции, дефиниции и типове CLIL, анализирахме редица примерни CLIL уроци
– запознахме се с развитието на теорията и методологията в изучаването на предмет на чужд език
– научихме как да изготвяме план за CLIL урок и да създаваме дигитално портфолио
– запознахме се с необходимата терминология за преподаване на учебен предмет на английски език
– разбрахме как да използвам текстове за четене и слушане в CLIL- интегриране на езиковите умения и развитието на съдържателни, комуникативни, познавателни и културни умения
– научихме как да създам учебни материали използвайки уеб инструменти
– използване на ИТ и CLIL, прилагане на Дигиталната таксономия на Блум в създаването на CLIL урок
– разбрахме как да интегрираме проектно-базираното обучение и CLIL, да използваме проектно-базираното обучение в класната стая, където учебния предмет се преподава на английски език, за насърчаване на общуването и сътрудничеството, разгледахме инструменти за оценяване на проектната работа в CLIL класната стая
– видяхме как да използваме филми в класната стая – приложения за CLIL
– запознахме се с историята и културата на Ирландия.
Сред ползите от курса, които ще подпомогнат разработването на теми от учебната програма, изграждането на международни партньорства и участието в интердисциплинарните проекти, заложени в плана на СУ „Иван Вазов“, са изработването на електронно портфолио и използването му в часовете, поставянето на ученика в центъра на образователния процес и допринасяне за повишаване на неговата мотивация и резултатност в следствие от досега с европейската култура, която присъства неизменно в преподаването на предмет на чужд език.
Обогатяването на знанията по програма Еразъм+ и обмяната на опит с колеги от цяла Европа са сред другите ползи от квалификационната дейност.
